I followed those instructions using another machine which does have a DVD drive (and I did verify that "disk 1" for diskpart was the flash drive). Then when I boot the laptop from the flash drive, it does start up Vista and give me the standard installer screen (with options to install or repair).

I have just installed Vista on my computer with success. But I have a second harddrive (both are S-ATA) which I did not do anything to when installing Vista. And now when I click on this drive, the D-drive, it says it needs to be formated. And in diskmanager it says it is RAW! What is this and how did it happen?
